Mark Twain Quotes Sayings That Will Make You Humorist
Mark Twain was an American writer, entrepreneur, humorist, publisher, and lecturer. Here are the best Mark Twain quotes and a short biography. His original name Samuel Langhorne Clemens but known as his pen name Mark Twain. He was lauded as the "greatest humorist this country has produced".
Mark Twain was born on 30 November 1835, in Florida, Missouri, United States. He served an apprenticeship with a printer and afterward filled in as a typesetter, contributing articles to the paper of his more established sibling Orion Clemens. He later turned into a riverboat pilot on the Mississippi River before traveling west to join Orion in Nevada. He alluded amusingly to his absence of achievement at mining, going to news-casting for the Virginia City Territorial Enterprise. His humorous story, "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County", was published in 1865, in light of a story that he heard at Angels Hotel in Angels Camp, California, where he had invested some energy as a digger. The short story brought universal consideration and was even converted into French. His mind and parody, in exposition and in the discourse, earned acclaim from pundits and companions, and he was a companion to presidents, industrialists, artists, and European royalty. He died on 21 April 1910 at age 74 in Redding, Connecticut, USA.
William Faulkner called him 'the father of American literature'. His books incorporate The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and its sequel, the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884), the latter often called "The Great American Novel".
